Interview with Michael Harrison

Michael Harrison is one of the legendary DJ’s of the music that mattered and a true champion of radio. He launched one of the pioneer stations of progressive rock WLIR-FM in Long Island, where he was the program director and host of his own evening program. He has helped create and contributed to the sound of some of the most important stations in American radio history. WNEW-FM in New York, KMET-FM in Los Angeles, WZLX –FM in Boston among others. As a producer he has brought us syndicated shows like Starship 76, The Great American Radio Show, Backstage At The Grammys to name a few. He was the managing editor of Radio and Records Magazine and a columnist and editor at Billboard Magazine. He is currently the publisher of two of radio’s most important journals. Talker’s Magazine, known as the bible of talk radio and Radio-Info. I had the pleasure of interviewing him recently.
